“How to Make Money Online”… that’s how it all started for me. Those 5 words that I searched online is what quickly made me realize there was something better for me and my family.

I had a well-paying city job that enabled me to provide for my family, but I was miserable. I was working 50-60 hours a week, but I knew I wanted more out of life. I realized one thing about having a good job but also secretly wanting your own business… having “opportunities” to make more money (over time) made it harder for me to get started with my online business. 

That’s one big hurdle I had to tackle. But I finally did it. 

It was 2010 when I first searched “How to Make Money Online”. I clicked on an ad that took me to a product about affiliate marketing. The guy selling the product talked about how he works from home, in his pajamas, while drinking coffee. 

I was hooked. That’s what I wanted too. 

He had screen shots of his affiliate accounts showing all the sales he had made while he was sleeping. It was exciting. 

I started dreaming about what I was going to buy. Where I was going to travel with my family…I was already spending my earnings in my head and I had not even started anything! 

For the next several years, I bought many courses on internet marketing. I was learning everything there was to learn. But after 5 years, I realized I still wasn’t making money. Just learning… getting ready to be ready!

One morning I woke up to check my emails, just like every other morning, and I clicked on an email that took me to a business course on email marketing. The guy who put together the course was a big name in the industry. I had seen his courses before, but I never bought them because they were expensive. 

I watched the sales video and took a chance… I bought the course (expensive). I felt like I was going nowhere and I needed to change what I was doing… because it wasn’t working. 

This marketer was different than 99% of the marketers that were selling their own products. The first thing this guy said in his course was “The reason 95% of internet marketers don’t make any money is because they aren’t selling anything.”

That hit me like a ton of bricks!! 

He talked about email marketing and how it's the best way to build a business if you want to sell online. He didn’t hold back. He would always say throughout the course, “How do you make money online? Send traffic to a squeeze page… that’s it.” Build an email list, get the people on your list to like and trust you, and they will buy whatever you recommend to them. 

Email marketing… That’s all you need. 

He made me see why I wasn’t making any money, so I started focusing 100% on building my email list. I bought my first solo ad for traffic and got 48 subscribers and made 1 sale. That was the first time I had ever sold anything online. 

I continued to buy traffic through solo ads and have built a list of a little over 4300 subscribers in the email marketing niche that actively open my emails and buy my stuff. 

I’m going to be honest here, I’m not making millions of dollars a year driving luxury cars and living in a 10,000 sq ft home. And I haven’t quit my job (yet), but I average about $15k-$20k per month income from my business which makes life very comfortable. 

My email business enables me to spend quality time with my family and not have to worry about money. I don't need to be constantly working over time. Going out to dinner and a show feels great when you don’t have to be adding expenses in your head to make sure you can cover the cost.

and... I'll be retiring from my day job VERY soon.
